from everyoneisgay.com, the site I love to read though I am not gay, nor usually need said advice (though today’s “I don’t know what I want” hit the nail on the head) , but more because they’re funny, and often say amazing things like this. Plus reading...

This week....and then some rambling
I find out where I’m going for my exchange! Which I can celebrate with the return of Glee :D Also my 4hr class is canceled for the week since my prof is off to Japan which means I can take a lil break, and I have my last 2 sessions of learning Chinese for a psych experiment and thus get my $80!! For the record, I love the words for umbrella, bicycle and cat. Especially because the sounds of...
SWEET TALK. by Billy Collins
oscarprgirl:
You are not the Mona Lisa with that relentless look. Or Venus borne over the froth of waves on a pink half shell. Or an odalisque by Delacroix, veils lapping at your nakedness. You are more like the sunlight of Edward Hopper, especially when it slants against the eastern side of a white clapboard house in the early hours of the morning, with no figure standing at a window in a...
Exiting the skytrain...
A dude barked (at?) me as I passed by him. Not like barked as in shouted, more like barked as in “Arf arf!”. Literally. And not even in an aggressive tone. I was like ?? Is this what we do now? We bark instead of saying hello or some lame pickup line or even a slur? I am still puzzled.
Most common question
People: “How are you?”
(What I’m thinking): “Oh just going through whiplash and PMS at once, so nauseous, tired, neck in unbearable pain, probably hungry with no appetite, probably running late for school, plus the periodical anxiety attack …………..”
(What I say): “Oh, I’m ok”

A Day of Nothing Much
The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.
-E.E Cummings Well, that makes me feel better about today, because at least I laughed. And I relaxed. I wish I would’ve gone dancing but oh well.
Each day, life will send you little windows of opportunity. Your destiny will...
– It is on this note that I am applying to embark on a couple new adventures for my third year at SFU. I want to get out of the classroom and climb down the ivory tower that literary studies can turn into (as much as I love Lit!) and get my hands dirty. Mostly because I am both afraid and excited...
Everything scars.

Reading a good book. Falling in love. Breaking a promise. Getting your heart broken. Forgetting to use a potholder. Saying no. Watching a couple fight. Witnessing death. Saying yes. The moment you decided you would not be scared anymore. The too-perfect cloud.
Epokhe
Michel de Montaigne. His book, “Essays” is a reliable resource for deep thinking. He wrote in a very personal way, as if the reader was a friend. He didn’t have answers to the big questions, but he had a great attitude. One of his favorite concepts was taken from the Greek word epokhe which means “I suspend judgment.”
Montaigne was not afraid to think about anything, large or small,...
Music: also contributing to my dopamine addiction!
“Scientists have found that the pleasurable experience of listening to music releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter in the brain important for more tangible pleasures associated with rewards such as food, drugs and sex. The new study from The Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital – The Neuro at McGill University also reveals that even the anticipation of pleasurable music induces...

This reminds me of my educ prof last Spring, who said we should concentrate not on what is but what should be as instructors, and as people in general.
Nothing as sweet...
…as feeling like you’re waking up from a long sleep and realizing you’re in love. And that those arms you love have been holding you throughout all the nightmares…
Every day I’m working slowly towards feeling like me again. I’m getting there…

– John Green
This is the type of people I like. I like people who LOVE things. It hardly matters what it is they love, as long as it makes them as excited as a kid. And also people who just LOVE other people and who get kicks out of doing nice things for them.
In Dream
Black and enduring separation I share equally with you. Why weep? Give me your hand, Promise me you will come again. You and I are like high Mountains and we can’t move closer. Just send me word At midnight sometime through the stars.

– Romio Shrestha (via heartmindspirit)
Ah so true. Plus anger, ignorance and pride makes any adult look like a 6 year old in an instant. There’s a difference between childish and childlike and the former is not attractive in the least once you pass your teen angst days.
